No Sailor is the moniker of American singer-songwriter Kieran Garvey and his five-piece folk band. A seasonal resident of the East end, Kieran and his band have been playing shows from Montauk to Manhattan for the past eight years. Their fresh and energetic live show has made them a fixture at many bars, clubs, and music festivals. Their next single “Rock, Paper, Scissors” is due out June 23, and it leads with a vibrant violin refrain over Garvey’s playful lyrics.
Later this year the band plans to release their debut album, Anchor Broken Free, rife with stories of codependent romance, spoiled love, and the absurdities of dating. Recorded over two years, and in three countries –Slovenia, Scotland, and America – the album was carefully crafted with Glasgow producer Paul Savage (Franz Ferdinand, Camera Obscura) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, Beck) in Los Angeles. The result of their labor is a collection of delicate, powerful, and achingly honest songs.
