Living in Paris for over 25 years as an expatriate New Yorker, veteran rocker and author Elliott Murphy’s career in music and literature is more active than ever. He has released over 35 albums, still performs shows all over Europe as well as the U.S. and Japan and is a prolific author of fiction. Four decades have passed since the release of Elliott’s ground-breaking first album AQUASHOW (1973) and fans continue to fill his shows while critics praise his albums. In 2016 a bio-pic of his career THE SECOND ACT OF ELLIOTT MURPHY featuring interviews with Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen was released all over Europe and won the Audience award at the Dock of the Bay Film Festival in Spain as well as being chosen for the prestigious Stony Brook Film Festival on Long Island. Born to a show business family in New York, Elliott began his career by a troubadour like odyssey in Europe in 1971 including a bit part in Federico Fellini’s film “Roma.” Returning to the US he quickly secured a recording contract and following the huge success of his first album came LOST GENERATION (Produced by Doors producer Paul Rothschild), NIGHT LIGHTS (featuring Billy Joel), JUST A STORY FROM AMERICA (featuring Phil Collins and Mick Taylor) and in 1996 an extraordinary duet with Bruce Springsteen on SELLING THE GOLD who often invites Elliott on stage to perform with him during his European tours. Murphy is also a published author of numerous collections of short stories, most recently PARIS STORIES, and two novels MARTY MAY and the neo-western POETIC JUSTICE. His writing has appeared in Rolling Stone (U.S.), Vanity Fair (France) and other publications. In 2015 Elliott Murphy was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres by the French Minister of Culture. www.elliottmurphy.com

  • LIVE MUSIC at the Talkhouse starting July 30th
We’ll be putting on live music at the Talkhouse starting July 30th. Though we are legally allowed to have patrons inside the club we are opting not to do so for safety reasons. That means the performers will perform on our stage but their audience will be seated outside on our patio deck where they can hear the show and view it on video screens. It’s a way to safely experience the show with other fans and support local performers and us in these tough times. All door proceeds will go to the artists. All social distancing protocols will be strictly enforced. You must wear a mask when using the restrooms or getting up from the table at any time You must order food with the purchase of a beverage
